Prosthetic Bridges

 

Bridges consist of spans, which restore the shape and function of the lost tooth, and the elements connecting the span with the pillars, most commonly crowns. The chewing force is transmitted to the bone through the abutment teeth, and the bridge is permanently cemented to the pillars (the teeth adjacent to the gap, properly polished and prepared in advance). Implementation of a bridge irreversibly links the adjacent teeth to the gap.
